Chocolates & Roses
It’s that time of year again! The day that’s surrounded by love! Yes, I'm talking about Valentine's Day. Some of you may be so excited for this day and the others may absolutely hate it.
This year, I am one of those who are undeniably excited for it! I was lucky enough to have a handsome young man ask me to be his Valentine (I’ll write about the date on another post so stay tuned!).
For those who are going on dates this weekend, but you’re not sure what to do, let me help! There are so many possibilities.
If you two rather stay in, then you can still have a romantic evening. My suggestion is that you two wear something nice! Because sometimes it’s just nice to look your best and feel really good about yourself.
Girls, isn’t it nice to have your hair done, make up done and just feel like you run the world because you got your winged eye liner just right?
Once you’re all done up, cook a nice meal together! It’s very fun and romantic because you’ll be creating a delicious meal together along with getting to know some more of the little things about each other.
Nice clothes. Nice meal. Simple, yet romantic.
However, to the boys out there who don’t know what to do and you plan on ordering a pizza… if that’s what you’re set on, at least be sweet with it.
Put a pepperoni heart on there! See if the pizza place is doing a special where they make cook it into a heart shape. It’s the little things like that! It doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it does take a little and that is still thoughtful.
Next, for those who are going out and having trouble deciding where...try something new! If I were you, I wouldn’t go see a movie (personal preference, honestly). They are dark, you can’t talk and the seats are awkward so he couldn’t even put his arm around!
Therefore, I would suggest going to a restaurant you haven’t tried, going to a museum, or even go to a cute little town that may have shops or coffee shops! If you live in the country, give the city a try! (& vice versa)
This day only comes once a year and should be something special and unique! Try new places & new things!
For those lucky enough to be enjoying the warmer weather around this time, then perhaps a picnic or a nice walk around the town. Enjoy the weather that the rest of us are jealous of!
Those of you gents who are taking a young lady out, don’t forget your manners! But you don’t have to worry about spending a huge amount of money on the date! Find some place that’s within yours and her budget (if you two decided to go Dutch). There can be some affordable places out there that won’t break the bank. Valentine’s Day deals can be a lifesaver!
The possibilities are truly endless. Just put a little extra thought into it. It’s okay if it’s not extravagant, but at least there is some meaning and a heartfelt gesture.
Now, for my single ladies…put on your heels, cute dress and some lipstick.
Embrace this day! You are single and flawless. Grab your girlfriends, get all done up and have a night out on the town. Because you deserve it!
You can never get enough time with your girls. It would also be a cute idea to get a little something for one another! Just as a sweet, friendship gift. Who doesn’t love getting a present every once in a while?
That’s your best friend! Of course you love them, it’s more than okay to show them that!
Besides, a girl’s night out is always the best medicine for any situation.
