Filters of Faces

So I have mentioned before that social media can be a good thing and a bad thing in our lives. Recently I was hanging out with some friends and we were discussing how people use their social medias in certain ways.

It’s as if we have multiple filters of faces: one is the face we want the social media world to see and the other is the face that we actually wear in public.

Everyone who has an Instagram will understand when I say ‘it’s all about that feed.’ The thing to do now is keep a certain feed with your page (not saying everyone does this, but a lot do). I’m also not trying to bash on the people who have a feed because I’m somewhat guilty of doing that too and there isn’t anything wrong with wanting your page to look a certain way.

However, this post is about maintaining the same face. By that I mean that some people are guilty of posting pictures that portray a certain lifestyle that they want the world to see, yet live as someone else in the real world.

It’s like you are trying to catfish your followers.

Again, not trying to offend anyone.

But I am saying that more people need to take away one of the faces and live through just one of them. If you are portraying a life on your feed that you wish you had or would want to have, then why not live it as such?

That never made any sense to me. I hope that you really think about the life you are living, the life you are portraying and the life that you are wanting and figure out how you are doing each one. Whether it is the same or if it is different.

Just take a moment right now, look at your pages and think about what it looks like and ask yourself if that’s how you want to be seen or if that’s even the type of person you are when you’re walking down the street.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to show the world the real you. You are beautiful and the world would be lucky to know the real you.
